JOB SUMMARY

Designs, implements and maintains health education programs for communities to help prevent the spread of disease and to promote healthy lifestyles. Develops and implements health education programs designed to increase awareness and knowledge for the improvement of health in a community. Works with health professionals, community officials and others in the development of health services. Delivers health training courses/sessions for individuals and groups, according to audience characteristics and needs. Keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep health education program material current.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Full-time 80 hours every two weeks. Monday through Friday working 8:00am-5:00pm. Possibility of working an occasional evening until 7:30 in the future. No weekends, holidays or on call.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position. Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside. Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing is required. If incumbent does not possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, must be in process of obtaining or able to obtain within three years. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements. Minimum of 5 years of RN experience required, with at least 2 years in ambulatory care preferred. Must have a thorough knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques, including the American Association of Ambulatory Care Nursing Standards of Practice. Must also be able to implement appropriate administrative and management principles. Board certification in ambulatory care nursing preferred.
