JOB SUMMARY

Hospice patientΓÇÖs caregiver during scheduled work period. Meeting the patientΓÇÖs activities of daily living needs, meal preparation needs, emotional and spiritual support needs, medication compliance needs, and laundry. Responsible for maintenance of the internal hospice environment during scheduled shift. Utilizes cost effective measures to deliver quality care. Complies with hospice philosophy and has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients of all age groups.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

provide personal cares to a maximum of 4 patients in a home like setting. Make meals for residents, Cleaning of cottage. Able to prioritize needs of all patients. Strong ability to communicate with family members of patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

Proof of High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have completed a state approved CNA coursework with home health aide training, and CPR certification. Must have completed a state approved home health aide course (TMA) with home health aide training..Satisfactorily completes a written competency test and performance test. Satisfactorily completes yearly competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credit for each year. (12 hours required annually.)Three years nurse aide or hospice volunteer experience preferred.
