Certified Nursing Assistant
Adheres to legal regulations and organizational policies when discussing patient health information. Assists with daily living of numerous patients with a wide variety of health conditions. Collects medical specimens with strict adherence to established procedures and test requisitions. Documents the critical elements within a patient chart to help others. Ensures that all equipment or related supplies are in proper working order prior to use. Evaluates patients progress and communicates with multidisciplinary team members. Maintains a high standard in relation to infection control mechanisms for patient safety. Operates and maintains medical equipment based on specific policies. Performs routine cleaning and disinfecting tasks in certain areas of a healthcare organization. Responsible for promoting a safe environment for patients, families, staff, residents, and visitors and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary heath care team to provide the best outcome for patients.
Two CNA classes will be held in March 2019 at Northwest Technical College. Both courses run from March 18 - May 15. One class meets on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The other class meets on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endo
