Hours Per Shift: 8 hr
Patient caregiver during scheduled work period. Performs tasks delegated by management, clinical staff, and/or the client and family. These tasks may include, but are not limited to meeting the patient activities of daily living needs, meal preparation needs, emotional and spiritual support needs, medication compliance needs, and laundry. Maintain the functioning during scheduled work period. Responsible for maintenance of the environment during scheduled shift. Utilizes cost effective measures to deliver quality care. Complies with Sanford's philosophy and has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of adult, and geriatric patients.Nursing staff are expected to know and will be held accountable for following infection prevention and control policies.
The nursing department is open 24 hours/day, 8 hour shifts/day; any of those hours may be an expectation of employment specific to the needs of the department. These needs change dependent upon staffing availability. Will be required to work rotating shifts, weekend and holidays. Expected to be orientated to 2 of the 3 shifts. (An exception will be made for those wanting to work straight nights.) Full time; 64 hours every 2 weeks.
Certified Nursing Assistant on the Minnesota Registry of Nursing Assistants.Certificate of successful completion of Minnesota-approved Trained Medication Assistant course. Proof of High school diploma or equivalency required. Satisfactorily completes the medication training course (which includes 40 hours didactic and 40 hours supervised clinical training). Satisfactorily completes a written competency test and performance test.
