Responsible to implement the nursing process within Sanford and the continuum of care. The nursing process is utilized to assess, diagnose, establish a plan with outcome criteria, intervene, evaluate, and document human responses to actual or potential health problems. This practice includes dependent, interdependent and independent functions. Functions in structured and unstructured health care settings described as a geographical and/or situational environment which may not have established policies and procedures. The nurse utilizes independent nursing judgment when integrating health care. Knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of adult and geriatric patients. Accountable for adhering to established policies, procedures and eligibility requirements, admission policies, Medicare guidelines and budgetary constraints established.
Integrates health care for clients from pre-admission to post-discharge. The nursing department is open 24 hours a day, any of those hours may be an expectation of employment specific to the needs of the department. These needs change dependent upon staffing availability. Will be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Part time; 24-32 hours every 2 weeks.
Must be licensed in the State of MN as a Registered Nurse. BLS Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Following a formal orientation, competency in the assigned clinical area is expected within six months. On-the-job training will be provided. Must also complete 24 Contact Hours every 2 years with 2 hours being infection control.
